Not one to miss an opportunity to go above and beyond, I had the idea to create The Black and White Box a custom disposable camera design, something to share our unique personality boldly. Re-inventing a staple is a big task, but with a view to bring in more revenue and have people walking around with a unique advertisement for our lab in their hands, I set to work.

My inspiration for these patterns, in keeping with the direction from our ‘Summer Disposable’ campaign, were the bright and bold colours and graphic expressions of the flower power era. I worked with professional sign writers to map out the original Kodak sticker, upon which our new design was born. Prototyping, re-adjusting, and perfecting, finally we took a finished product to print and hand-stickered on the lab floor with the team.

In total there were 3 styles: 2 seasonal styles for the 2019/20 summer, and one signature TB&WB design for their recycled camera range. The recycled camera range is made from disposable cameras dropped to the lab, which are hand stickered and filled to reduce the waste that comes with disposable cameras.
