Exhibition Identity for The Black and White Box in collaboration with Allpress Gallery
Identity • Creative Direction • Graphic Design
From the Archives was a community film photography exhibition curated by The Black and White Box, in collaboration with Allpress Espresso at their gallery on Drake St, Auckland.
Alongside organising the event with the team, I took lead on creating and executing the visual identity across print and digital mediums. As an exhibition exclusively showcasing film photography, at a time where film was at the height of its resurgence, the details of this tangible medium were a natural inspiration. The familiarity of the film strip sparks feelings of joy, anticipation, and nostalgia.
The designed system was created to transfer over various mediums between print and digital, with changeable visual elements for both function and novelty. The first was my choice to create a custom poster for each artist, which contributed to extended exposure beyond our established community. The second, the ability to alter the negative ‘tracking sticker’, a small, niche detail decided noticable only to the most avid photographers.
