In the summer of 18/19 I wanted to create a fun piece of content to promote the use/purchase of disposable cameras from The Black and White Box over the summer.

Film being ‘vintage’ in nature, I wanted to capture a scene reminiscent of a day at the beach you might see in the 60s/70s movies. I dreamed of bright colours, icecreams in hand, vintage bikes, a big shady umbrella, sharing laughs and making memories with friends, all topped off with the slightly ‘cheesy’, obviously scripted tone I so strongly associate with ads of that era.

We enlisted the help of Aidan Rodgers, an experienced local videographer to bring my vision to life on Super 8 film. Super 8 was perfect in providing the hand-made authenticity that would be the cherry on top of this project. Aidan and I worked together to direct the group and bring the video to life on the day.

When the campaign was released the following summer, it gained great recognition on our social media and helped to push sales that summer to record numbers for the lab.
